Tsugaru Vidro

Imagine having glass tableware and flower vases that capture the essence of each season. Whether it’s the blooming cherry blossoms of spring, the lively festivals of summer, the vibrant foliage of autumn, or the serene winter snowfall, Tsugaru Vidro makes this vision a reality.

It all began in 1977 when Tsugaru Vidro was created using a method originally used to make glass floats for fishing. Aomori Prefecture, which used to make most of Japan’s glass floats, faced a decline in demand when plastic floats became popular in the late 1970s. That’s when Tsugaru Vidro came to life.

Recognized as a traditional craft of Aomori in 1996, Tsugaru Vidro showcases the rich colors of Japan’s seasons. Skilled craftsmen create thousands of colors in a blazing-hot 1500-degree environment, crafting unique and attractive shapes. These colorful Tsugaru Vidro pieces add a special touch to your meals and relaxation moments, bringing the beauty of Japan’s seasons to your life.

Lightwood is a versatile collection designed by Jasper Morrison. The collection is composed of chairs, stools and tables that seamlessly complement various furniture styles and find a perfect place in diverse settings, both in residential and commercial spaces. Both seats and tables are available in a range of wood types and can be customized with various finishes and solutions.

The new desk which was unveiled during Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023 was designed by the designer for the Shiroiya Hotel in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. Nowadays, remote work has become increasingly common, and online meetings have emerged as a convenient option. It is no secret that desks have become an essential and significant part of the average home. In recognition to this trend, Maruni and Jasper Morrison decided to incorporate this desk into the Lightwood Collection, making slight modifications to the original model.
