This is the story of Japanese Craftsmanship Spirits:
Imabari Towel

Source: Imabari Towel Industrial Association

In the southeast area of Japan, there is a city where locally rooted craftsmanship contributed to creating a region-regeneration brand. Imabari Towel, and the city name “Imabari” now represents a brand of a soft and fluffy towel, so comfortable you cannot help caressing your face with it. .

The towel also high-reputational for its water absorbency, is produced in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, a place blessed with the beautiful nature of the Seto Inland Sea. It is a mecca for towels that has been driving the industry in Japan for over 120 years because over 200 processing factories gather around this area. In the early 2000, however, Imabari towels lost popularity pushed by cheaper imported products.

A re-branding project was developed to review and acknowledge the true craftsmanship. Reaffirming each meticulous step including thread handling, weaving, dye blending, and Sakizarashi Sakizome (Dyeing strings first) technique unique to Imabari and also setting high-standard qualification criteria contributed to reshaping the brand. This re-branding project determined the craftsmanship quality of an Imabari-made towel and the brand dramatically increased its recognition and sales.

Product: HIROSHIMA Sofa

HIROSHIMA sofa is a truly simple sofa. While the refined straight lines give the chair the impression of relaxed inviting comfort, the slight curvature provided by the fabric and cushion creates a softness that blends perfectly into any setting. The superb structure, made of down and low-resistance urethane to support the body with just the right amount of give, smooth stitch work, and careful attention to other equally detailed features make for a wonderful sofa.
