The world’s largest cosmetic company L’Oréal’s subsidiary in Japan recently renovated their office. The refurbished office, named “Beauty Valley”, is based on the concept of “en”, meaning “ties” or “connection” in Japanese. It is a place meant to produce beauty by connecting “ties” with Japan, customers, business partners, and employees.
The office uses Japanese beauty motifs, such as the design themes based on the distinct spring, summer, autumn, and winter seasons, and the furnishings and decorations made with Japanese craftsmanship.
“Beauty Valley” is designed according to the LEED standard, an international certification for sustainable offices that guarantee energy efficiency and better waste management. The office has been designed with attention to details such as light, sound, and materials.
Maruni not only contributed to a large part of the office by installing furniture including the HIROSHIMA, T&O, and Lightwood series, but also created bespoke furniture and decorations made from waste materials derived from the manufacturing process.
Maruni will participate at the Salone del Mobile.Milano, April 18-23 2023.
