Maruni Wood Industry, which has been continuing to produce fine workmanship under the motto of “industrializing craftsmanship”, will celebrate the 90th anniversary of its establishment in 2018. In addition, with Naoto Fukasawa as art director, it will be 10 years since the launch of the MARUNI COLLECTION, which has currently expanded to 28 countries. In commemoration of these milestones, from this autumn Maruni Wood Industry will be holding three events over the next year.
In this first exhibition, we will be showing a collection that gathers from an archive of our chairs, with chairs from the time of our founding until the HIROSHIMA armchair. You will be able to experience the “industrializing craftsmanship” that those who came before us put into the making of chairs with the dreams and passions of their era. The exhibition also hopes to reveal this history from the perspective of design.
We cordially invite everyone to please come.
