WOOD

beech

FSC® certified lumber is used if required.
Beech is available in many countries around the world, including Europe and North America. In Europe, it has been known for centuries as the “Queen of the Forest” while Oak is the “King of the Forest”.
Beech is a hard, strong wood. The sapwood is a transparent, light pink color, while the heartwood is lightly reddish brown color. Since this wood is very resilient and perfect for bending, it is often used in curved chairs and molded plywood. It is also used in lacquer craft green body, as handles for tools, and for wooden toys.

oak

FSC® certified lumber is used if required.
Oak thrives in large forests, and has been used for centuries for furniture and construction material in Europe and North America. It has also been widely used for building ships and barrels for wine and other alcohol. In England, it is used in the crest of the Royal Household. It is called the “King of the Forest”, and is known for its strength and long life.
The primary feature of oak is its warmth. Plain-sawn oak shows a strong grain, while quarter-sawn oak presents a delicate, gentle surface. In addition, quarter-sawn oak features a unique medullary ray pattern that is known as a “tigroid”.

maple

FSC® certified lumber is used if required.
Among the maple family, the harder species are known as “hard maple”, as opposed to “soft maple”. Maple is found widely in North America, primarily in eastern Canada and the midwest and northeast regions of the United States. It is well-known for producing maple syrup. The heartwood is a lightly reddish brown color, while the sapwood is white mixed with light pink. Maple is heavy, hard, and strong against impacts.
Maple is often used for gymnasium floors, bowling lanes and pins, and skis.

ash

FSC® certified lumber is used if required.
Ash is a deciduous broad-leaved tree widely distributed in the north temperate zones of Europe, North America, and Asia. It is one of the tallest trees in Europe and appears in Nordic myths as the “world tree”. It is ring-porous wood with clear patterns of annual rings, which is especially prominent on the cross grain. Quickly grown timber has rugged characteristics and is used for products such as baseball bats and helves of axes or hammers. It also makes good bentwood and is widely used for furniture and architectural materials.

walnut

FSC® certified lumber is used if required.
Walnut has a beautiful grain that is used in many types of high-quality furniture and as decorative material/sliced veneer in artwork. It is known as one of the world's three most precious woods, along with teak and mahogany. Walnut is subject to planned logging in carefully controlled and cultivated forests. The features of this lumber include a rich and dignified appearance with a deep brown color and dense grain patterns. Many years of frequent use will bring about subtle changes in the color that only increase the elegance of the wood.

pine (acetylated wood)

This is wood made of pine from New Zealand and Chile that has been subject to the acetylation process. Acetylated wood is formed by creating a reaction between the wood and acetic anhydride (a type of acetic acid) at high temperature that replaces the "hydroxyl group" in the cell walls of the wood with an "acetyl group" in order to change the characteristics of the wood. This processing method is environmentally friendly. The acetylation process makes the wood highly resistant to rotting, and it is used in outdoor wood applications such as bridges, floodgates, decks and wood sashes.

LEATHER

L-01

#5191 -
Leather with a pigmented finish that is smooth to the touch. It is a shaved leather with a fine texture but also retains its original grain and streak patterns. The thick coat of color on the surface enhances the maintainability and stain resistance while also enhancing the beauty. It is a leather that is both beautiful and functional.

#5006 -
It is a colorless natural leather that is tanned over a long period of time with tannins extracted from plants. The more you use this leather, the more it adapts gently to your body, and the sunlight and oils on your hands give it a rich color and shine. The colorless tanned leather clearly shows its distinctive marks such as grains, wrinkles, and scars, and each leather has its own expression and no two are the same. Because there is no coating on the surface, it is susceptible to moisture, and the stains once absorbed may not be cleaned. But one can always appreciate the scars and stains as a sign of ageing.

L-02

elmosoft

It is a full-grain leather used without shaving the surface to fully tap into its rich leathery look. To achieve a semi-aniline finish, the leather is dyed and then coated with a very thin layer of pigment. It has a soft, natural texture and is resistant to stains and color transfer. Apart from grains and pores, it may have scars and wrinkles, but we consider these as unique characteristics of the leather and use them in our products as long as there are no issues with durability. It's important to keep in mind that the surface coating on unpigmented leather is thinner and more susceptible to stains than the coating on pigmented leather.
