CARING FOR FURNITURE

Wood

Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not use rags that have been treated with chemicals.
For tough stains, first soak the soft cloth in a warm water solution of 3 to 5% neutral detergent, and then wring the cloth out carefully before wiping the wood. Next, be sure to carefully wipe away all moisture, and then finally wipe once again with a soft, dry cloth and allow the wood to air dry.

Fabric

For daily cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and dirt from inside the weave of the fabric. If the fabric becomes soiled, soak a soft cloth in a warm water solution of 1 to 5% neutral detergent, and then wring the cloth out carefully before wiping the surface of the fabric by tapping. Next, be sure to carefully wipe away all moisture and then allow the fabric to air dry. For covers, refer to the label for cleaning directions. (Some materials will shrink or fade if washed.)

Leather

Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not use rags that have been treated with chemicals.
For stains, polish with a leather cleaner for furniture. (Apply the cleaner to a soft cloth, rather than directly to the leather.) For tough stains, first soak the cloth in a warm water solution of 3 to 5% neutral detergent, and then wring the cloth out carefully before wiping the leather. Next, be sure to carefully wipe away all moisture, and then finally wipe once again with a soft, dry cloth and allow the leather to air dry. After the leather has dried, polish with a leather cleaner.

COATING

Urethane finish

The surface coating is formed from a urethane resin film. Resin protects the surface of the wood, and therefore this coating is resistant to scratches and stains caused by water. In addition, the thickness of the coating can be changed, for a thin film finish (such as an oil finish) that preserves the features of the wood.

Oil finish

An oil coating is a finish that works into the interior of the wood. This allows the grain to be seen clearly, emphasizing the properties of the wood. Prolonged exposure to water and other moisture will result in stains, and therefore we recommend polishing with oil regularly. This is the secret to prolonging the life of your furniture.
