October 6, 2016 Events Press Release

“Chairs, Baskets + Books” Exhibition by Jasper Morrison will be held from Friday, October 28

Maruni Tokyo will hold an exhibition titled “Chairs, Baskets + Books” curated by Jasper Morrison, one of Maruni Collection’s designers. This exhibition features “Craft, Daily Life, and Quality of Objects”―a common theme that is shared with Maruni―that combines together to create an atmosphere of comfort.
“Seeing it all together, you will notice that it’s all about making things” says Jasper which highlights the main theme of this exhibition.

Chairs, baskets and books are the icons of this exhibition, as they bring together the beauty that lies within practical utility. This exhibition showcases a library space of books including Jasper’s newest title “The Hard Life” and installation of daily objects from Matsunoya by Norihiko Terayama (studio note), along with Maruni’s furniture. “Superloon” from FLOS, the latest lighting designed by Jasper, will also be exhibited.

This is a unique opportunity not only to explore the diversity of certain everyday object types which we tend to take for granted but also to share the idea of Jasper’s daily observations.

In collaboration with: FLOS JAPAN CO., LTD, Matsunoya Co., Ltd.
